The Downham & Bellingham Cricket Club run two Saturday teams, both playing in the Shepherd Neame Kent League and one team playing friendly cricket on a Sunday.
Our 1st XI play in Division 2 of the Kent League and our 2nd XI are now in Reserve Division 3.
Downham is a family club, as shown by our fiercely contested annual "Fathers Vs Sons" fixture. The 2003 club captains were indeed a father and son. In that season, the Second X1 captain was former Charlton and Gillingham footballer, Colin Powell and his son, David, is our first team skipper. Stewart Barnes, son of club legend Jeff Barnes, our club chairman.
Downham enjoy a close relationship with Charlton Athletic Football Club, and our members include the former Addick's stars, Steve Gritt, Colin Powell, John Bumstead and Mark Penfold.
Downham positively encourages the addition of new members in all aspects of our club, and adult social membership starts from as little as £10 per season !
